I'm gettin' a bunch for my roommate an' me while we watch some movies.
[ pauses. also, now that he's less laden, the transformation of the week is more visible - his skin has changed to glasslike along one arm, his upper chest, neck and one cheek. underneath, there's brassy gears interlocking in place of flesh. he's also faintly, but audibly, ticking. ]
[ we're not messing with the fucked up locations today we're staying home after the initial peek out and immediate leaving. nope
but everyone's around... it's so lively. inevitably he ends up in the kitchen cooking something, if the smell of good food would draw her in at any point. ]
It's okay. Just been quieter for so long, now that everyone's back, it's a little...
[ much, for a recovering introvert. he's not unhappy with it at all, but just needs to absorb it in stages.
he'll make up a little plate for her, making sure there's at least one of each vegetable (green beans, red pepper, onion, bamboo shoots) and some beef with the noodles. ]
I'm feeling pretty good. Yeah, It's good to see everybody again. ... It'd be nicer if Heaven wasn't... the way it is right now. [ Extra chaotic? ] But I'll take what I can get.
A little bit. But I'm also not used to people saying the things they really mean. [Absolutely cursed to work with some of the most cryptic people in the universe.]
[There's a very brief image of a black cat, before it's replaced by a tall black haired man.]
Sure. He's a caring person when you really get to know him. But when you talk to him he says things like "temptations will show up again"... And you have to figure out it means he's worried about you.
[ as for him... the image is a terse-looking white haired man, a few years older than himself. ]
The amount of times I had to yell at this guy to just tell me what he actually meant instead of talkin' around things is insane. He's better at it now, and we-- [ egh. ] mostly get along, but... yeah.
w1 monday
Oh damn-- sorry!
no subject
It's alright. Do you want help carrying all this?
no subject
[ holds out one of the lighter bags. ]
no subject
This is a lot of snacks. Are you stocking up for the week?
no subject

D'you know about movies?
no subject
I know of them, but I didn't get to watch a lot. Do you have a favorite genre?
no subject
Oh thank god. You're like, the first one who's actually known what I'm talkin' about. Yeah, I like action movies. The more excitin' the better.
no subject
I thought more people would've heard about them, even if they didn't watch a lot.
Most of the ones I know are historical.
no subject
[ shrugs. ]
Historical, huh... Taair said he liked histories, but the kiosk at the store wouldn't spit out any good options.
no subject
[A nod]
It could be there are too many histories to choose from? With all the different worlds being represented.
w7 monday
but everyone's around... it's so lively. inevitably he ends up in the kitchen cooking something, if the smell of good food would draw her in at any point. ]
no subject
Firefly will make her way into the kitchen. ]
It smells good... What are you making?
no subject
It's black bean noodle stirfry. [ a lot of it. ] Wanna try some?
no subject
[Oops.]
I'd love to.
[She's never had it before.]
no subject
[ much, for a recovering introvert. he's not unhappy with it at all, but just needs to absorb it in stages.

It's a salty flavour, but should be good.
no subject
[I have some friends like that too. A stray thought accompanied by a surge of fondness for those who aren't here.]
Thank you, Chrono.
[She'll take the plate gratefully. She'll eat it.]
It's really good.
no subject
[ especially with all the effects going around. her emotional echo is nice, though.
there's a little flash of pride at her approval. ]
Good to hear. [ ... ] How are you feeling? Glad to be back?
no subject
[Six weeks of effects happening at random. Help.]
I'm feeling pretty good. Yeah, It's good to see everybody again. ... It'd be nicer if Heaven wasn't... the way it is right now. [ Extra chaotic? ] But I'll take what I can get.
no subject
[ he'll fix a plate for himself and sit across the counter from her. ]
What did you get up to? Once you... were over there.
no subject
I was learning how to bake?
no subject
[ huh. ]
What were you making? I sent some shortbread over one time, but there probably wasn't enough for everyone...
no subject
I made some sugar and chocolate chip cookies. The first couple of batches were pretty burnt. Creating things is harder than it looks.
no subject
[ he laughs, lightly. everyone burns the first few batches. ]
Baking's hard on its own, but it's a good place to start. You enjoyed it?
no subject
Yeah, Lailah is really easy to talk to, and Kiraman is smart.
I did. There's something really satisfying about getting to eat your work.
no subject
[ hmm... ]
Would you like to learn to cook with me, sometime before we go?
no subject
no subject
[ with everyone back... ]
It's really nice to see you happy, Firefly.
no subject
[ Cooking in a big group sounds like fun. ]
You're a really kind person, aren't you Chrono?
no subject
I don't think so in particular? I'm just normal.
no subject
[ What's normal for one person is something special to somebody else. ]
Still, I think you're kind.
no subject
[ ...he frowns at her, concerned. ]
Is this... because of what happened? You're expecting somethin' else?
no subject
[There's a brief pause.]
A little bit. But I'm also not used to people saying the things they really mean. [Absolutely cursed to work with some of the most cryptic people in the universe.]
no subject
[ man. rough. ]
What do you mean by not being used to it?
no subject
Most of the people I work with... Really like to be cryptic. [They're so difficult, but there's also a lot of fondness when she talks about them.]
no subject
Y'know, I think I know the type. Tell me about 'em?
no subject
Sure. He's a caring person when you really get to know him. But when you talk to him he says things like "temptations will show up again"... And you have to figure out it means he's worried about you.
no subject
chrono laughs lightly, nodding. ]
Yep, definitely know the type. Your... partner? A friend? Or just a coworker?
no subject
All of the above. We work together pretty often.
no subject
[ as for him... the image is a terse-looking white haired man, a few years older than himself. ]
The amount of times I had to yell at this guy to just tell me what he actually meant instead of talkin' around things is insane. He's better at it now, and we-- [ egh. ] mostly get along, but... yeah.
no subject
[ What a stern looking fellow. ]
It's a little annoying to have to deal with that type, huh? But at least it's... better now? [ Mostly. ]
no subject
[ an interesting term. ]
Yeah, definitely annoying. But... when you work out what they actually intend to mean, it's usually okay.
no subject
As long as you have practice with how they word things, that usually helps.
