[Kaworu's also got his little angel plushie. He glances up Chrono and feels surprisingly happy to see him. The corners of his mouth quirk into a soft smile anyway. Except when he sees the chocolate his face turns a little more gray and he waves it away in a "you keep it" gesture.]

[ chrono tries to offer a smile back, but it doesn't quite land. the rejection of the snack in more than understandable, though - he felt the same way about eating right now. the chocolate goes back in the bag, which ends up on the floor.

so. here they sit. after an awkward moment, he reaches over and pokes the little angel plushie on top of it's head. ]

You got a pretty cliché one, huh?

[peripheries]

[He looks down at the precious little angel plush but with wings and shrugs.]

I guess it's supposed to look like one of my brethren. What is yours? A lizard?

[clockpunk]

S'a dragon.

[ it's this, but also wearing a little red scarf. he frowns from kaworu to his plushie, contemplates for a moment, and then sighs. that made. sense. ]

You're not human, then? Or, weren't before, if we all don't count now.

[peripheries]

No.

I'm not. I just look like one but I'm not human. And I was raised knowing I wasn't.

[He tilts his head, not quite understanding the concept of a dragon. It looks like a lizard to him...]

[clockpunk]

Have you always - [ gestures ] - looked like this?

[ pretty boy. he'll get to the dragon thing later, since it might tie into explaining himself about being pretty nonchalant about this whole deal. ]

[peripheries]

No. Before this I was a child.

[clockpunk]

[ that actually does get him to smile a little. ]

But it's your body. As in, it's only ever been yours.

[peripheries]

Yes, my body that was created during the experiment that birthed me.

[clockpunk]

[ oh. that description has a flicker of something complicated cross his expression, but it's gone quickly with a little shake of his head. ]

Okay. So your "brethren" are...?

[peripheries]

Angels.

[he sounds tired and drops his face into his plush like he doesn't want see Chrono's expression.] Does that bother you?

[clockpunk]

[ blinks, surprised, and considers for a moment. not about his answer, more about how to word it. ]

Nah. Met a demon before, but not an angel. You're the first.

[peripheries]

[He glances up and searches Chrono's face for any falsehoods despite not having any inclination towards suspicion. He fears rejection in this moment and he can't explain why.]

And it doesn't matter to you?

[clockpunk]

[ there's nothing. his expression is a little concerned, but open and honest. ]

Does it matter to you?

[peripheries]

Of course it does. It's who I am. It's the reason I exist at all.

[clockpunk]

Then that's the way it should matter. It's not gonna change my opinion of you, if that's what you mean.
